So, what is a wallah?
 
The Free Dictionary defines a wallah like this:
1. One employed in a particular occupation or activity: a kitchen wallah; rickshaw wallahs.
2. An important person in a particular field or organization: "the Ritz, a favorite haunt of Republican wallahs" John Robinson.

Nounwallah - usually in combination: person in charge of or employed at a particular thing; "a kitchen wallah"; "the book wallah"
 The word has Hindi origins and it has very few other English equivalents. The best I've heard so far is a "go to guy" as in Bob is my best go to guy, but that hardly tells us anything about Bob. And why would I want to "go to" Bob?  
 
On the other hand, the tv wallah on Main Street will take good care of you says so much more. So please tell us more about your wallahs. The good ones and the bad ones.
